Gifted Education

The goals of the Gifted Education program are to allow each student to thrive and develop in an atmosphere that compliments their individuality and high intellectual abilities.  The social and emotional needs of a gifted child are unique and diverse.  A part of the Gifted Education program addresses those needs.  Each student learns to work cooperatively with peers, express themselves creatively, apply critical thinking skills and develop fluency in both written and oral expression.

Students Working
The Gifted Education program at GES revolves around a project based learning curriculum with the interest of the student driving the instructional activities.  Each student who participates in the Gifted Education program is expected to excel at least two levels above their current grade level.  Students are given the choice of what they study and then expected to delve into that area of interest with great enthusiasm and excellent independent study skills.  The students also participate in academic competitions such as Science and Math Olympiads, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, History Day and Odyssey of the Mind.
