School Advisory Council
The Grafenwöhr Elementary School
Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of elected parents and teachers who study
issues and programs and make recommendations to school administrators and
community officials about areas of concern. Meetings are held every
third Wednesday of the month and are open to all members of the community.

Installation Advisory Committee
The Installation Advisory Committee
(IAC) advises the installation commander on matters, including support,
within the jurisdiction of the commander and applicable component command.
Representatives from our area schools, including both parents and professional
school staff, meet at least four times a year. The meeting dates
are noted in the school newsletter that goes home bi-weekly.
Parent Teacher Student Association
The Grafenwöhr PTSA supports
the school with volunteers, activities, and by having many fund raising
events throughout the school year. The organization also sponsors
individual and group pictures, the school yearbook, a number of guest performers,
the sale of tee shirts and other wear. The PTSA board meetings are
held the third Thursday of each month. Parents interested in contacting
the PTSA officers may call the school office at 09641-83-7133.
School Home Community Partnership
The School Home Community Partnership
(SHCP) is a DoDDS initiative designed to provide meaningful involvement
and participation of parents and the total community in promoting the social,
emotional and academic growth of children. At Grafenwöhr Elementary
School, we strive to support this concept in all aspects of school life.
PTSA, SAC, FAST, SILT, PESA, Red Cross Volunteers and other activities
are part of this effort. We have a SHCP committee whose mission is
to provide guidance and suggestions to reinforce collaboration between
the school, parents and community. We welcome your ideas and involvement.

School Improvement Leadership
Team
The School Improvement Leadership
Team (SILT) is a guidance committee comprised of three parents, three teachers
and the school principal that help guide school improvement efforts.
The SILT meets monthly, usually in conjunction with the SAC on alternating

regarding the next meeting date.
School Volunteering Opportunities
Grafenwöhr Elementary School
is blessed with an active group of parent and community visitors and volunteers.
It is our belief that everyone involved in the volunteer program benefits
the school, teachers and, most importantly, the students. Volunteers
are valued supporters in all school settings, especially the classrooms
and Information Center. Many volunteers read to and with students
daily. The American Red Cross provides optional training for volunteers.
Parents and community members who wish to volunteer and/or receive training
