The mission of Grafenwöhr Elementary School is to maintain a meaningful partnership with the community through which physical well being, cognitive growth, and emotional support are provided to all learners.

Essence of Mission Statement

• Grafenwöhr ES maintains a meaningful partnership by providing an open and welcoming atmosphere to all community members. The school stays in touch with parents and the military community through oral and written communication.

• Grafenwöhr ES provides support for the physical well being of all learners through school health services, physical education, and a safe, secure learning environment.

• Grafenwöhr ES provides support for the cognitive growth of all learners through classroom instruction, one on one tutoring, and small group instruction. A challenging curriculum is provided for academic instruction with standards as our guide.

• Grafenwöhr ES provides emotional support for all learners by providing a positive, encouraging environment where the learners are safe from bullying and emotional abuse. Counseling services are available as well as support for our unique military environment.

Student Performance Goal 1

All students will improve their written expression across the curriculum.

Essence of Goal 1

• Written expression is the ability to communicate thoughts in written form. This includes the freedom to write their ideas without fear in the writing stage and also the ability to improve word choice during the revising stage.

Student Performance Goal 2

All students will improve their vocabulary across the curriculum.

Essence of Goal 2

• Vocabulary will be defined as the meaningful use of words.  Vocabulary improvement includes the students’ oral vocabulary, written vocabulary, and vocabulary comprehension in reading and listening.
